Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with an award-winning business in order to appoint a Financial Accountant to support the business in the next phase of its growth journey.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to further their career within an exciting and growing business. The primary responsibility of this role is to closely support the Finance Director by producing detailed and timely financial reporting, cash flow forecasting and management information. The Financial Accountant will work closely with the Finance Director, playing a key role in financial planning and analysis to support decision-making and help shape the future of the business. The post-holder will review finance processes and procedures and implement changes to support business growth and strengthen the financial control environment.

Ideally, this role would suit a newly or recently qualified accountant (ICAS / ACCA or equivalent) who has a strong technical accounting background and is ambitious in their approach to their own development.

The Role:

  • Completing the management accounting
  • Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including cash flow
  • Developing a new value-add reporting suite to meet business needs and growth
  • Driving the financial controls agenda, identifying gaps and implementing improvements
  • Managing the year-end audit and statutory accounts process
  • Providing tax information to external advisors
  • Supporting the Finance Director with long-term growth plans
  • Other ad hoc duties as required

The Individual:

  • A qualified accountant (ICAS / ACCA or equivalent)
  • Commercial financial planning and analysis experience
  • Experience in developing robust processes and controls
  • Experience in managing external auditors through the year-end audit process
  • Confident in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail
