Job Title: Interim Financial Accountant
Location: Edinburgh, Hybrid
Contract: 9 months
Salary: £54,000 - £58,000 or day rate equivalent

An Interim Financial Accountant is required to join a large public sector organisation on an initial 9 month basis, operating in a hybrid working environment in Edinburgh.

This role will support the senior finance team across statutory reporting, technical accounting and compliance, working closely with transactions, systems and management reporting teams to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant public sector reporting frameworks
• Assist with periodic financial reporting, including analysis, reconciliations and improvement of reporting outputs
• Work closely with the finance transactions function across AP/AR, VAT and inventory accounting
• Provide technical accounting advice to senior finance colleagues and key stakeholders
• Support engagement with internal and external audit
• Contribute to the review and improvement of financial processes, policies and reporting systems
• Assist with change and system related activity within the finance function
