Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a manufacturing business in Greater Glasgow to appoint a Finance Manager. Reporting directly to a high-calibre Financial Controller. This role offers broad financial reporting, management accounting and team management exposure in a well-regarded business with a strong leadership team, which is currently going through a period of change.

Ideally, we are looking to engage with qualified accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS) either currently in Big 4 / mid-tier audit seeking a first move into the commercial industry or happy to consider those already in a financial reporting role in the commercial industry seeking a step-up. The business needs someone with a flexible mindset, as they go through a busy period, and it is expected that your workload/responsibilities will change from day to day.

In the medium to long term, there is the opportunity for the appointed individual to grow into a bigger role in the business as there is an element of succession planning with this hire. On offer is a salary of up to £60k+ benefits and a hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Finance team. Provide support, coaching, guidance and oversight as required to empower the team to deliver
  • Point of escalation for the team and for internal issues
  • Prepare monthly management accounts for the Group, including review of nominal ledgers, processing recharges, posting of accruals and prepayments, and bank reconciliations
  • Produce quarterly Group VAT return, monthly CIS returns and support of year-end tax activities
  • Support the preparation of year-end budgets and forecasting throughout the year
  • Assist with the annual audit process for the Group and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Support and develop the management reporting function to deliver further added value in reporting processes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance financial reporting efficiency
  • Work closely with the business to deliver new processes and improvement projects
