Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with a global premium drinks business in Lanarkshire to appoint a Finance Manager. Ideally, we are looking to engage with qualified accountants (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ACA) who have prior people management experience. Relevant sector experience would be advantageous, but would not be a prerequisite. Given the management experience, we are looking for strong communicators with robust interpersonal skills as you will manage a team of 7 people at various levels.
In the role itself, you will be responsible for supporting the Head of Finance & Risk with the monthly management and statutory accounts and ensuring that a tight financial control environment is maintained. You will also be responsible for the payroll function.
Key Responsibilities
- Line managing the operational finance team, involving managing, motivating, setting KPIs, conducting annual performance reviews and providing training and development in order to achieve department results
- Overseeing Accounts Payable, Credit Control, general ledger and all statutory reporting
- Overseeing Payroll, including coordination of monthly payments and all related reporting requirements
- Ensuring the Finance function has adequate financial processes, systems and controls and that these are implemented and documented appropriately
- Monitoring and maintaining adequate systems and controls
- Coordination and review of month-end close to strict deadlines, including submission of monthly / quarterly group reporting pack
- Reviewing monthly production of balance sheet reconciliations with full supporting backup
- Ensuring weekly payment runs are carried out on time with appropriate approvals obtained, including but not limited to BACS, international payments and staff reimbursements
- Working with Sales and Customer Services on effective customer credit management
- Overseeing preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns, including management of any queries or issues arising
- Overseeing preparation and submission of annual PSA filing, including management of any queries or issues arising
