Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with an exciting manufacturing & retail business, based in the central belt, to recruit for a Finance Manager role. This role will be a senior position in the organisation, working closely with the CEO / CFO, offering exposure to all areas of the business across a broad range of tasks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a premium brand within a business focused on an exciting growth strategy.

Reporting to the CEO / CFO, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Managing the month-end close process
  • Preparing the annual audit pack, co-ordination of audit and the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintaining and reporting weekly cash flow forecast
  • Maintaining purchase ledger and supplier payment runs
  • Payroll processing and compliance with HMRC
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Acting as key contact for external stakeholders including HMRC, Banking Providers, Auditors, Landlords, HR, and other critical suppliers
  • Providing HR Admin support for all areas of the business
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of processes and efficiency within the finance function
  • Supporting the development of the wider finance function and objective setting
  • Business partnering with commercial and operational functions of the business

The client is seeking a fully qualified accountant who has the ability to operate in a small finance function, being hands-on while also being able to be involved in activities that will support future growth for the company. The ideal candidate will strive for accuracy and possess strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are key, as well as being able to build solid relationships at all levels across various departments. Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of ERP systems are also important for this role.
