Rutherford Cross is delighted to be partnered with one of the largest, family-owned, infrastructure and support service businesses in the UK to appoint a Finance Manager. This opportunity has arisen due to internal promotion and represents a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious accountant with a track record of staff management to join a highly reputable and successful Scottish business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, this role will be responsible for ensuring the output from the Finance Team is accurate, timely and fit for purpose. As the head of a group of people, you will be expected to ensure tasks and projects are allocated efficiently to ensure personal development, considering and scheduling any technical or skills training requirements where appropriate. The organisation of this team will be critical to the success of not only the Finance Team, but also the remainder of the wider group finance team.
Ideally, we are looking to engage with individuals who have a track record of team management and staff development within that, as well as experience within a high-volume transaction environment and a solid grounding in financial accounting. Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain management reporting tools, producing monthly reporting on key business metrics
- Develop detailed knowledge of the operation of all finance ledgers within the ERP Systems & work closely with the Finance System team
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and work closely with the Finance Teams to identify process improvements and operational consistency
- Review key control account reconciliations, ensuring they are completed timeously and accurately
- Assist each of the Financial Controllers to ensure that all ledgers are maintained accurately
- Ensure transactional compliance with tax legislation e.g., CIS, VAT and IR35
- Assist the resolution of purchase and subcontract ledger queries
- Support the team with the weekly cash reporting process
- Direct line management responsibility for the Finance Supervisors
- Undertake Performance Development Reviews with direct reports in accordance with HR policy
