Rutherford Cross is excited to be working with a Glasgow city centre based, listed company to recruit a Finance Manager.

The role of Finance Manager is varied and exciting, providing a qualified candidate with sufficient challenges and opportunities to develop their existing accounting skills and enrich their career as a professional accountant. The post-holder will report directly to the Divisional Finance Lead, additionally working alongside the Group Finance Director and Chief Financial Officer on specific projects, and will also be in regular communication with operational staff, worldwide.

Duties include:

  • Responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts in line with month-end timetables for the following numerous business units
  • Preparation of monthly revenue in line with IFRS within group policy and deadlines
  • Preparation and processing of the work in progress adjustment
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the finance team
  • Preparation of monthly management reporting packs including KPIs; together with insight and analysis to assist Operations in understanding the drivers of the result
  • Analysis of monthly overhead costs against budget and forecast, understanding variances and provide actionable recommendations to bring back to planned expenditure
  • Detailed analysis of labour productivity monthly/weekly as required
  • With Operations, track and evaluate supply of labour versus actual customer demand ensure optimal utilisation of delivery staff
  • Initiate and conduct periodic Project Reviews as necessary
  • Provide coaching to operational staff on commercial and financial matters, as required
  • Working closely with the key stakeholders to drive performance improvement
  • The person:
  • A qualified accountant, ICAS or CIMA
  • At least 5 years post qualified
  • Confident in communication, as you will be speaking to operational staff on a daily basis and challenging them where necessary
