Rutherford Cross is delighted to support Byoma in the appointment of a Finance Manager, based in Glasgow.

The brand is on a mission to democratize and demystify beauty by empowering consumers to make smart, informed and educated choices.

The Finance Manager plays a key role in strengthening Byoma's finance function through the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting. The post-holder will lead the team of Finance Assistants, combining hands-on financial management with strategic support for the Head of Finance. The individual will drive process improvements, support board reporting and safeguard the financial health of Byoma as the brand continues to scale globally.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consolidation and month end management accounts including Balance sheet, P&L and cashflow under tight reporting deadlines
  • Reviewing the accuracy and completeness of the trial balance and preparing journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
  • Managing a team of Finance Assistants with varying levels of experience - responsible for overseeing their daily tasks, mentoring and development
  • Supporting the team across all aspects of transactional processing and working capital management (including credit control and supplier payments)
  • Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with the preparation of monthly Board pack
  • Maintaining sound financial policies and improving processes and controls
  • Assisting with regulatory compliance including monthly / quarterly VAT returns, year-end reporting and liaising with external auditors as needed
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with preparation of ad hoc financial reporting and analysis

Candidate Requirements:

  • 3 years post qualified ICAS / ICAEW / CIMA / ACCA with demonstrated experience of management accounting
  • Ideally experience in a similar industry (FMCG, Beauty etc.) within a fast paced environment
  • Experience of working in an international and multi-currency business
  • Demonstrated experience of leading and developing a team
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Experience of working on any change projects would be highly advantageous
