Finance Manager – Ayrshire – up to 60k

Rutherford Cross are delighted to be working exclusively in partnership with a well-established business in Ayrshire to appoint the newly created position of Finance Manager. This represents an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a highly regarded business at a key point in its growth trajectory.

Reporting to the Finance Director you will take on full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Finance Function leading a team of two finance assistants. Due to the growth of the business, it is foreseen that should the appointed individual succeed in the role there are significant opportunities for growth and development

On offer is a salary of up to 60k and a flexible working pattern post-probationary period, there is also a significant amount of autonomy and flexibility within the role making this a great fit for someone who has ‘been there and done it’ in a similar role who is looking for a new challenge, or someone who is seeking a role with significant development and leadership exposure in an exciting rapidly scaling business.

Responsibilities and duties:

  • Control and preparation of monthly management accounts for reviews with the Director of Finance ahead of reporting deadlines.
  • Budgeting, forecasting & cashflow management
  • Maintain general ledger, including preparation of journal entries, accounts analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing two Finance Assistants, responsible for staff development, annual 1 to 1’s, PDPs etc
  • Preparation and submission of Quarterly VAT returns
  • Partnering with the operational divisional leaders to prepare monthly cash forecasts
  • Monthly Payroll/HR – Co ordination with the Outsourced Payroll company
  • Maintain stock management processes to ensure accurate tracking of stock
  • Monitoring of projects budget vs actuals
  • Management and maintenance of the supplier ledger
  • Ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Preparation of annual financials for reviews with the Director of Finance ahead of reporting deadlines
  • Assist with the annual Audit
  • Monthly CIS processing and HMRC submissions.
  • Control and management of Fixed Asset Register and Depreciation Schedules
