Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a well established business that is continuing to grow and expand its offering. Due to internal promotion they are looking to add a Finance Manager to their team. The role will lead the Management Accounts team as well as Accounts Payable Function. A summary of some of the key duties are below:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and responsible for their accuracy (over 200 P&L’s each month)
  • Management and development of the Management Accounts team
  • Management of the Accounts Payable team and supporting the AP Manager with process improvements
  •  Key support to Head of Finance and taking the responsibility that comes with that
  • Preparation and management of balance sheet control account reconciliations
  •  Preparation of the audit file and assistance in the management of the external audit process
  • Preparation of analysis and ad hoc reporting as required
  • Ongoing assessment of monthly accounts process to ensure as efficient as possible – focussing initially on month end completion
  • Review the role of the Management Accounts team post month end completion
  • Supporting the FP&A team
  • Involvement in the annual budget process and assisting with forecasting through the course of the year

For this role the business are seeking a fully qualified accountant who is an experienced team manager and is able to support and develop others. Attention to detail and accuracy will be important as well as being able to drive forward any efficiencies within the month end process. Other skills required will include:

  • Self –starter with proven ability to prioritise and deliver against deadlines
  • Excellent people skills and enjoys developing a team and improving processes
  • Excellent technical knowledge – particularly in preparation of Management Accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong experience of using ERP systems and advanced user of Excel
  • Inquisitive – will challenge results and be comfortable sharing findings

This role is will be based in central Glasgow and is offering a competitive salary DOE.
