Salary £45,000

As the Finance Manager of this innovative Edinburgh based business,the position is responsible for overseeing and managing accounting, budgeting and financial planning functions for the business and plays a key role in the Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all accounting functions, including General Ledger, Purchase Orders, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain the percentage of completion worksheet for the recognition of monthly revenue and WIP
  • Manage and execute month-end close
  • Prepare group elimination journal entries for consolidation purposes
  • Prepare the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and related variance analysis including liaising with Group’s CEO and auditors
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis for senior management;
  • Provide advice, guidance, assistance and analytical service to operating units;
  • Supports the Group’s quarterly filings in accordance with US GAAP accounting practice;
  • Coordinates and directs the year-end audit process.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Prepares the annual operating budget  and manage the budget process by providing guidance and support to divisional management;
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis on budget variances and other key operational data
  • Responsible to provide analytical support to senior management and operating units on matters relating to management of the budgets and other financial performance issues;
  • Develop new or enhanced reporting systems in order to provide accurate and timely information to divisional management;

Qualifications

  • Accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/AAT) required with 3-5 years PQE
  • Experience with full cycle of accounting, financial analysis and planning
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and an ability to communicate KPI targets and analysis to the business units.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP is essential
