Newly created role with a highly recognised brand name based in Glasgow. This role will report directly to the Managing Director of the company and will work closely with them as part of the Regional Management Team. This newly created Finance & Business Control Partner post will provide strategic and financial guidance and governance to ensure that the company’s financial commitments are met and that the finance function adheres rigorously to group financial policies, procedures and statutory legal requirements at all times.
As a key stakeholder in the regional senior management team, the Finance & Business Control Partner will work closely with peers to support their business areas by analysing and making recommendations on the wider commercial aspects of the business to help maximise short-term financial performance and long-term sustainable profitability. The role will focus on improving and continually optimising all aspects of finance, ensuring a collaborative focus and the strengthening of business partnerships.

A summary of some of the key responsibilities are below:
- Contribute to the development and delivery of company vision & strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers
- Provide Leadership across all business areas, focusing on providing the support and coaching necessary to develop individuals, implement strategies, meet or exceed financial performance objectives and increase organisational effectiveness and efficiency
- Build effective partnering relationships both internally and externally for continued business improvement, sharing knowledge and developing your partners’ financial and business control expertise
- Identify and develop talent for the future to secure transformation and future sustainability
- Contribute to the SMT by working collaboratively across functions to deliver the strategy and objectives for the region
- Lead the team through the annual budget process and ongoing rolling forecasts, engaging through effective communication and developing key stakeholder knowledge and understanding
- Ensure that the P&L and balance sheet are an accurate representation of the financial state of the business
- Lead on the commercial reporting and analysis of performance and interpret relevant output / trends to assist in key decision-making
- Lead on financial risk management within the business, make recommendations and take action to minimise / mitigate risk
- Take overriding responsibility for the company's working capital and cash management policies and initiatives
- Manage the CAPEX budget and support the preparation and justification of business cases
- Monitor the financial performance of the contract maintenance portfolio
- Prepare and deliver periodic reporting to the group to the required levels of accuracy & timeliness
- Collaborate and maintain strong working relationships with other business controllers and the shared service teams to secure the highest levels of management accounting accuracy
For this role, the company is seeking a fully qualified accountant with a strong commercial focus, excellent business partnering / stakeholder engagement experience, as well as an experienced finance leader. On offer is a great salary of up to £80,000 DOE along with benefits, including hybrid working.
