Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with our client, a subsidiary of a PLC, to recruit a Business / Finance Analyst in central Edinburgh. Despite operating as a lean function in Edinburgh, the organisation has offices and operations around the world.
The opportunity has arisen for a Business Analyst to join the business on a permanent basis. This is a newly created position reporting into one of the Directors of the business.
The job holder will focus on supporting the business globally on strategic market analysis, researching acquisition targets and reviewing internal business processes. This position will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the business and drive growth strategies.
Key Accountabilities:
- Analyse existing business activities
- Detailed and in-depth analysis of additional internal and external opportunities
- Develop strategies to target gaps in the market
- Analyse the movement of products across the globe and make recommendations of new markets and opportunities
- Analyse current market competition, including threats posed by new market entrants, to improve their industry position and performance
- Identify and transform emerging trends into opportunities
- Review current business processes and provide continuous improvement globally
- Provide analysis to the Sales function regionally
- Identify and research potential acquisition targets and provide business cases to support research
- Support contract negotiations and preparation of business cases with the provision of relevant market data
- Review their global partnerships and provide strategic direction
- Create a pricing policy to improve margins and develop a unit cost model specific to each region
- Develop an innovative franchise model strategy
- Proactively explore strategies, initiatives and business ideas while evaluating the direction the business is taking
