Description

Rutherford Cross are pleased to be assisting this leading UK infrastructure company in the search for a high performing Corporate Tax Specialist. Working as part of a shared service centre tax team supporting the Group function the successful candidate with perform the following key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit the group’s annual Corporation Tax returns (Circa 30)
  • Assist in the preparation of year end provisional computations and statutory accounts notes
  • Provide tax ad-hoc advisory support to the Group Tax Team as well as to the wider business
  • Provide ad-hoc training to internal customers and support Group Tax in relation to tax matters
  • Take the initiative in relation to tax projects, both to identify opportunities and ensure compliance with processes (e.g. implementing greenbelt initiatives)
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of the group’s VAT returns, including ad-hoc monthly preparation and monthly peer review
  • Through continuous improvement ensure the tax processes are efficient and delivered in a right first time manner to the business and 3rd parties
  • Active participation in cross functional projectsThis role represents an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a proven track record in corporate tax compliance gained in professional services or another in-house team.

Previous Experience

  • Qualified/ Part qualified tax professional (CTA / ATT) or relevant HMRC background, with strong tax technical experience
  • Experience of preparing Corporation Tax returns essential
  • Experience of preparing VAT returns advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills, with ability to plan, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Professional in approach and dedicated to high standards, with excellent attention to detail and right first time mentality
  • Previous experience of Oracle and Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE advantageous
  • Flexibility and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential
  • The post requires an ability to work under pressure yet still provide exemplary customer service
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral are essential
