Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a hugely successful FMCG business to appoint a Commercial Finance Business Partner. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant with significant experience of influencing commercial decision-making to join a global FMCG business with scope for great career development.
The purpose of the role is to support the Commercial Finance Director in providing Financial Leadership to the Commercial Sales Team to enable effective decision making by translating business performance into insights. This will contribute to strategy development, strategy execution and delivery of business and financial targets.
Key objectives include:
- Supporting the Integrated Business Planning process and outputs with particular emphasis on Revenue & Margin forecasts
- Assist in monthly Board reporting
- Deliver insights and make recommendations to improve profitability (pricing, mix management, opps realisation etc)
- Ensure data is factual and that the commercial team is in compliance with all governance policies
- Support the commercial team in evaluating projects to determine how best to maximize value
Business partnering responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic focus: acting as a true-business partner to drive improvements and support and manage change within the organisation. This includes coaching Area Sales Managers and Area Sales Directors regarding how to analyse their business model and customer/distributor models to improve its performance both for growth and profitability
- Support growth: lead evaluations for new opportunities within existing portfolio and provide country and customer profitability assessments and New Product Development projects
- Strategic planning and capacity long term planning
- Reporting: Deliver comprehensive, accurate and informative information to feed the commercial organisation at all levels. This includes coaching Area Sales Managers and Area Sales Directors regarding how to report, structure and communicate their results as well as their forecasts, outlooks for the year to come as well as longer term processes.
- Planning: Manage planning process & systems: contribute to management of 3 year Integrated Business Plan and ensure systems to support the process are driven through.
- Active participation and contribution to the monthly demand planning cycle (challenge forecast where needed and support where financial analysis is required)
- Pricing: Take ownership and monitor / report on pricing strategy.
- Revenue Management: make recommendations to optimise mix and drive profitability
- Assist in monthly Board reporting

Salary circa £58,000
