Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a leading business within the Energy sector in Edinburgh looking to add an Assistant Management Accountant to its ever-growing function.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for Early Studying, Part Qualified & Finalist Accountants to expand their career, with the role providing growth and development opportunities within the team. In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of the month-end results, including the profit and loss statements and balance sheets for internal review and reporting
  • Preparing the monthly accruals, prepayments and other recurring journals
  • Developing and demonstrating an understanding of the results each month, and contributing to the analysis prepared on a monthly basis
  • Supporting the Transactions & Settlements Services Manager during outages
  • Providing accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting
  • Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variances

To be successful in this role you will be:

  • Part Qualified and actively studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS) or AAT Level 2, or have at least 2 years of experience working in an accounting environment
  • Be able to commit to periods of travel throughout the year (Paid for by the company)
  • Looking to continue their professional accounting qualifications
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Industry-related experience preferred but not essential
