Rutherford Cross is supporting a successful Glasgow based company to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their growing finance team. The candidate will report to the Financial Controller and be responsible for the financial management of several operating sites, purchase ledger and ad hoc projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Overall day to day financial management of several of the operating sites
• Purchase ledger – seeking approval and allocating supplier invoices using Sage Paperless
• Ensure supplier statements are reconciled
• Investigate and close supplier invoice queries
• Prepare month end payment run
• Allocate and clear Sage bank feeds then reconciling month end bank balances
• Reconcile and book turnover data from our Sitelink property management system into Sage
• Support the monthly close and the preparation of monthly accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all reports are ready before deadlines
• Assist with preparation of VAT returns
• Work on ad hoc projects, including site cost analysis

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience in a busy Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant position
• Attention to detail and strong numerical and analytical skills
• Familiarity with Sage 50 would be an advantage
• Experience assisting with month end close
