Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a high-growth FMCG business based in Glasgow with the appointment of an Interim S&OP Manager on an initial 3–6-month contract basis.
As S&OP Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Sales & Operations Planning process across the business, ensuring alignment between commercial, supply chain, and finance teams. This is a hands-on, strategic role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can drive process improvements from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate the monthly S&OP cycle across commercial, operations and finance
- Build and manage demand and supply forecasts to support business planning and decision-making
- Identify demand trends and ensure accurate sales forecasting in collaboration with commercial teams
- Work closely with supply chain and production teams to balance supply and demand
- Drive data-led scenario planning to support capacity, inventory and service level decisions
- Provide clear reporting and insights to senior leadership on forecast accuracy, variances and key risks
- Champion continuous improvement in S&OP processes, tools and cross-functional engagement
- Support system and data enhancements to improve forecasting and planning capabilities
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in a similar S&OP, planning, or supply chain leadership role within FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional meetings and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Excel skills (modelling, scenario analysis, reporting)
- Experience with ERP and planning tools
- Commercially aware, proactive and solution-focused mindset
