Description

Rutherford Cross is pleased to be working in exclusive partnership with an award-winning Scottish business in order to appoint an Assistant Accountant. This presents an excellent opportunity for a part qualified accountant to assist in optimising business performance as they continue to enjoy a period of growth.

Ideally, we are keen to speak to part qualified accountants who thrive when working in a fast-paced organisation and are actively studying their professional qualification.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the management accountant prepare weekly forecasts
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly Management Information reports
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies
  • Reconcile daily bank transactions
  • Review VAT transactions and assist in preparing the VAT return
  • Authorise bank payments, including supplier payment runs
  • Process expense claims, credit card returns, and mileage returns
  • Create and distribute intercompany recharges
  • Manage staff car schedules, including P11d schedule and vehicle write-down
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset register, including additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation

Requirements:

  • Actively studying part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to handle multiple workloads
  • Professional communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
