Description

Rutherford Cross are working on a rare opportunity for an in-house Senior Partnership Tax Manager.  Our client is a top 10 global law firm, operating in more than 40 countries with a headcount of c.8000.  The tax team is split across the UK, and because of continued growth, the Head of Tax is looking to recruit a Senior Tax Manager into Scotland, to focus on Partnership Taxes.

 

As a senior member of the tax team, reporting to the Head of Tax, your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting complex demands for tax reporting, compliance, planning, strategy and controversy.
  • Responsibility for preparing the UK LLPs tax computation
  • Responsibility for preparing and managing the firms partnership tax provisions
  • Taking on and managing tax driven projects such as R&D and capital allowance claims
  • Being a key member of the firms tax team and supporting the Head of Tax in managing the firms tax risk and implementing the firms tax strategy
  • Understanding of partners personal tax positions and the relationship with the firms tax position
  • Experience of either VAT or employee tax issues would be helpful but not essential

Candidate Requirements

  • Significant experience in Partnership Tax from a large accountancy or law firm
  • Tax qualification (e.g. CTA) desirable
  • Personal or Corporate Tax experience to Senior Manager level
  • Experience in tax accounting/tax audit
  • Evidence of strong numeric skills
  • Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute
  • Strong communication skills, able to influence thinking on tax planning and compliance
