Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a prestigious European business to recruit a Cost Accountant. Reporting directly to the Finance Director the role will provide exposure to business partnering with a range of non-finance stakeholders, working on new product development. The incumbent will also assist with budget and forecast submissions, ensure all key balance sheet accounts are accurate and updated on a timely basis, as well as providing technical accounting support to other areas of the business
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing and reporting month end accounts
- Assist with completing budget and monthly forecast preparation and submissions
- Assist with year-end statutory accounts preparation
- Maintain Fixed Asset Register and capital project tracking
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT & Intrastat returns
- Manage process of recovering any non-UK VAT costs
- Assist with monthly customs and duty returns to HMRC
- Prepare balance sheet review package and present to management
- Prepare and post manual journal entries
- Review and maintain sundry debtor/prepayment and creditor/accrual accounts
- Maintain record of Insurances and account for costs
- Lease accounting
- Prepare and report weekly cash flow forecasting
- Provide finance support on NPPD projects
- Cost centre reporting and cost monitoring
- Develop product standard costing model
- Ensure adequate controls in place and developed to meet both Volvo internal and external requirements
- Other ad-hoc projects/analysis as required
- Weekly cash forecast reporting and analysis of variance to forecast
Qualifications & Experience:
- Part qualified/finalist in professional Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA, etc.)
- Demonstrative experience in a similar finance environment, preferably within an engineering or manufacturing business
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Technically competent in computer skills,(Microsoft Excel/Word, ERP package - preferably SAP), with emphasis on strong excel skills
- Working knowledge of customs and duty processes for import and export of materials on a worldwide basis, preferable
Benefits Package:
- Salary £35,000-£43,000 depending on experience
- Working hours 8-4:30 Mon-Thu, or 7-3:30, and 8-1 or 7-12 Friday
- Bonus based on company performance
