Rutherford Cross is pleased to be working with a performing arts organisation in Glasgow to appoint a Payroll Manager on a 3-month interim basis.
Position: Payroll Manager
Duration: 3 months
Location: Glasgow (Hybrid)
Start: Immediately
Day Rate: Competitive
Key responsibilities:
• Lead the end to end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all employees and fee-paid staff
• Manage payroll submissions, BACS payments, and monthly reconciliations (PAYE, NI, pensions, ledger)
• Act as key point of contact for payroll queries, providing guidance on tax, pensions, and pay-related matters
• Collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and external bodies to ensure compliance and smooth operations
• Produce payroll reporting, analysis, and support year-end audit requirements
• Maintain compliance with payroll legislation and manage statutory returns and updates
• Oversee payroll systems, including upgrades, process improvements, and potential implementation projects
• Line manage payroll staff, including workload planning, performance management, and development
The Ideal Candidate:
• Full end-to-end complex payroll experience (essential)
• Demonstrable ERP knowledge (essential)
• Available at short notice
