Description
Our client, a PE backed technology business, is seeking to recruit a FP&A Finance Business Partner which is a newly created role. The role is being introduced to help compliment and help commercialise the existing finance ream and will require strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving skills combined with experience in developing strong business partnering relationships that will aid decision-making.
The FP&A business partner is a key member of the finance team, responsible for delivering high quality financial planning, forecasting, and management insight to support strategic and operational decision making. The role combines strong technical analysis with commercial business partnering and exposure to senior leadership.
This is a high impact role with exposure to senior leadership and strategic projects offering clear progression opportunities within FP&A and the wider finance function.
Principle duties:
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and medium term plans
- Own key financial models, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strong governance of assumptions
- Deliver detailed variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods
- Support scenario modelling and stress testing to inform strategic and investment decisions
Management Reporting & Performance Insight:
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts and performance packs
- Develop and maintain financial and operational KPI reporting
- Provide clear commentary on performance drivers, risks, and opportunities
- Support preparation of reporting for Executive Committee, Board, and external stakeholders
Business Partnering:
- Act as a finance business partner to senior stakeholders across the business
- Support commercial decision making including investment appraisal, pricing analysis, and cost optimisation
- Challenge assumptions and influence decisions through data driven insight
- Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable messages
Process Improvement & Systems:
- Identify and implement improvements to FP&A processes, models, and reporting
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including planning tools and reporting automation
- Maintain strong financial controls and data integrity across FP&A outputs
Team Support:
- Coach and review work of others where applicable
- Share best practice and contribute to the continuous improvement of the finance function

- Accuracy and reliability of budgets and forecasts
- Quality and impact of financial insight provided
- Stakeholder feedback and business partner engagement
- Delivery of process improvements and efficiencies
The individual:
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)

- Strong commercial awareness and strategic mindset
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to work to tight deadlines
- Proactive, inquisitive, and comfortable challenging established thinking
Skills & Experience
- Solid understanding of management accounting principles
- Proven ability to communicate meaningful financial insight to non finance stakeholders and support commercial / strategic decision making
- Strong financial analysis and modelling capability
- Experience working in a fast paced commercial environment
- Advanced Excel skills
