Our client is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team based in the Scottish Borders. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Finance Director and manage a small finance team to ensure the smooth running of their accounts function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts to aid business decision-making
• Assist in preparing and regularly updating financial forecasts, identifying trends and anomalies to support the Finance Director
• Collaborate with the Finance Director across all areas of the finance function
• Support and train team members within the accounting department
• Participate in payroll submissions and commission statements, ensuring accuracy for review and submission to head office
• Oversee the sales and purchase ledger functions and communicate any issues to the Finance Director
• Actively contribute to monthly management accounts processes
• Resolve or escalate departmental issues promptly to the Finance Director

• Strong financial and accounting experience within a fast-paced business environment
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Adaptable and resilient, able to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
• Part qualified/looking to study
