Description

Working Capital and Efficiency Lead job (12-month FTC) with a large Glasgow-based organisation.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:
Working Capital Management:

  • Develop and manage working capital strategies to optimise liquidity and operational efficiency
  • Lead cash flow forecasting, monitoring variances and recommending actions to mitigate risks or improve performance
  • Oversee the management of accounts receivable and payable to maintain strong cash flow and minimise delays

Financial Efficiency:

  • Conduct VfM reviews on key expenditure lines, identifying cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to implement recommendations that enhance financial efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to financial processes

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Manage and support the Debt Controller, ensuring effective credit control processes and minimising aged debt
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Transaction Services team to ensure best practices in financial operations
  • Act as a liaison between the Transaction Services section and other finance teams, ensuring alignment of objectives

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and present working capital and financial efficiency reports to senior management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes by providing insights into cash flow and working capital metrics
  • Support audits and compliance reviews related to working capital and financial operations

The Individual:

  • Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW etc.)
  • Available within 4 weeks’ notice
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role within industry
