Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a retail business headquartered in Glasgow to appoint a Senior Financial Accountant.  This is a newly created position and the company are open to appointing on either a full time or part-time basis.

This role will support the financial activities of:

  • the core business and its six subsidiary undertakings; and
  • certain other business interests of the founders of the company, which are administered and accounted for from the same location.

The role will report to the Finance Director of the Group.

The company is open to appointing a suitably qualified individual on either a full time or part-time basis.  The successful candidate would be required to commit to at least 22 hours per week. There is an expectation that the post-holder would be based in the office at least one day per week.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of the annual statutory accounts for the all companies
  • Preparation of the consolidation for statutory reporting purposes for the interim and annual of the group
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts for the non-core business interests
  • Assistance with Company Secretarial function for all companies
  • Liaise with accounts team re transactional information and journals to ensure it is correctly processed
  • Assist in preparation of corporation tax returns and tax enquiries for all companies by compiling and reviewing required information

Dependent on hours worked then additional responsibilities would include:

  • Providing financial information for leadership team meetings
  • Supporting the production of meaningful analysis to assist with business planning, budgeting and forecasting process

 

The Individual

The key candidate requirements for the position include:

  • Qualified accountant with a recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ICAS)
  • Strong accounts preparation experience
  • Experience in monthly management reporting and month end reconciliations
  • Comfortable supporting or partnering with director level stakeholders
  • Able to ensure the delivery of the more routine tasks required of the finance function
  • Excellent time management and adherence to deadlines
  • Confident, initiative-taker with effective communication skill

On Offer:

  • Salary £45,000-£55,000 full time equivalent
