Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a global drinks business to appoint a Group Senior Internal Auditor. This is a fantastic position for a qualified accountant with prior Internal Audit experience.

The business is looking for a  new member of its Group Internal Audit team to support the Head of Internal Audit embed an effective audit culture with appropriate risk management, processes and controls in place across the business units – from financial controls, to people processes, and everything in between.

This role is ideal for qualified auditors looking for a first move into industry, or for those already working in an internal audit position in a commercial organisation.

What’s involved?

  • Assisting in the delivery of our annual audit plan, by leading all aspects of internal audit reviews and projects, appraising the relevant risks, processes and controls, and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Providing management, including our Audit Committee, with high quality internal audit reports
  • Following up on agreed management’s actions , KPI reporting
  • Contributing to the development of corporate governance activities throughout the Group, including ongoing development of risk management frameworks, audit methodologies and governance structures
  • Supporting the work and development of other auditors in the team
  • Leading ad hoc projects at management request

What you’ll need:

  • A recognised accountancy (CCAB) or IIA qualification.
  • A thorough understanding of business process controls and experience of leading risk-based internal audit assignments in large and complex organisations. (ideally within relevant industries, e.g. FMCG, manufacturing, retail, logistics or distribution)
  • Excellent communication skills and report writing skills, with the ability to quickly build good relationships at all levels and help grow a positive audit culture across the Group.
  • Genuine curiosity and mental agility to be able to quickly get under the skin of the business, ask the right questions and spot potential risks or opportunities.
  • The ability to travel for work up to 20% of the time –within the UK and Ireland.
  • Great IT skills, with advanced skills in MS Office, and exposure to data analytics desirable.
