Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a global blue chip company based in Edinburgh with the recruitment of a Financial Reporting and Control Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to undertake a key central finance role that extends across the UK business and the wider finance function. The UK business is currently managing a number of significant acquisition and transformational projects and therefore requires a suitably experienced, qualified finance professional to drive and shape the central Reporting and Accounting team.
To be successful in this role, applicants must be able to demonstrate previous experience of driving and managing the delivery of a robust reporting function - building business partnering and technical support for major transactions in the UK business, as well as instilling effective balance sheet control and cash flow management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and developing a team of six qualified finance professionals
- Manage and drive high quality Reporting processes and control frameworks across financial reporting, balance sheet control, and cashflow processes
- Ensure that all statutory and compliance filings are met with a high degree of integrity
- Manage key relationships and governance structures both within finance and across the business
- Lead the balance sheet review process and overall balance sheet control framework including the identification of all associated risks and opportunities
- Ownership of cashflow reporting to the leadership team, alongside management of senior stakeholders across the UK business to meet Group KPI's
- Through business partnering, provide context, analysis and technical advice on significant transactions within the business in order to optimise the structure and execution
- Principal manager of relationships with external auditors and banking, coordinating activities and ensuring the provision of requested information by all agreed deadlines
- Ensure compliance with Group control framework for relevant controls and that all processes are documented and reviewed annually with any changes sanctioned
- Technical accounting project work, including liaising with the Group technical accounting department to access and document accounting decisions in line with IFRS
- A relentless drive for continuous improvement, achieved through cultural, operating, and governance initiatives
- Responsible for all external audit, operational treasury and banking requirements in the UK
