Rutherford Cross is working in partnership with a hugely successful business, based in Glasgow city centre to appoint a Finance Manager.
The post-holder will support operational managers in subsidiary companies, providing key financial information to underpin decision-making and manage the companies internal and external reporting timetables, processes and cashflows.

The Board of Directors have ambitious growth plans for the company, and may look to launch the business on the stock market in future.
The position encompasses a combination of key accounting tasks for a number of subsidiary companies within the group. As the group finance team is lean in nature, it is important that each individual is able to take ownership of their duties. It is likely the successful candidate will have worked in a small finance team where they have been used to taking on a variety of duties.
A summary of the key candidate requirements are as follows:
- Qualified CA, ACCA, CIMA or qualified by experience
- Full UK Driving License
- Highly organised & efficient
- Proactive, ability to work on your own & as part of the team
- Evidence of excellent planning and organising skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work meticulously and accurately
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle changing workload priorities
- First class communications skills

The purpose of the Finance Manager position is to take ownership of the financial management, control, reporting and planning for subsidiary companies. The successful candidate will provide cash flow analysis and to manage the interaction with internal and external auditors. This individual will take responsibility for day to day management of a small finance team and support their development.
An overview of core responsibilities includes:
- Statutory accounts preparation
- Prepare, review and provide commentary for management accounts
- WIP accruals & project costs accruals and prepayments
- Interrogation of contract margin variances
- Quarterly forecast: preparation and commentary
- Annual budget: preparation and commentary
- Credit Control
- Cash forecasts
- Project / contract budgets / proposals
- Year end audit planning / file preparation
- Year end tax computations
- Credit card / expense claim review
- Business partnering
- Coordination of information for insurance renewal
- Management of remote finance function
- Staff training and development
- Quarterly international and UK travel
- Develop and maintain good working relationship with company’s operational and senior management
- To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required of you by finance line manager and other senior operational staff
Salary: Circa £40,000
Pension: Employee contribution 2.5% and employer 12.5%
Holidays: 35 days (including bank holidays)
Life Cover: Death in Service
Medical Care: Private Medical Insurance (after 2 years’ service)
Working Hours: 35 hours per week
