Rutherford Cross is working with a service sector organisation based in Glasgow who are looking to appoint an Interim Finance Manager for a project role lasting 6 months. Reporting directly to the head of finance this role will be focused around leading a budget project. A summary of some of the key aspects of the role will include:
- Conducting a detailed review of the departmental budget and position including assessing budget controls and setting vision.
- Analysis of budget pressure areas and risks
- Providing detailed year end forecasting
- Assessing current budget structures to identify improvements
- Acting as a business partner to operations managers to ensure close budget management is being adhered to and best practice is being followed
- Liaison with management accounting team to construct revised budgets which satisfy internal and external reporting requirements
- Support a review of budget and actual transaction processes, including internal and external recharging
For this role the client requires a fully qualified accountant – CA/ACCA/CIMA who has extensive and recent experience in budget control and management. Communication skills are key as you will be liasing with various different contacts across the business and in areas outwith finance. Experience of supporting and training budget holders would be highly advantageous also. The client is keen to secure a candidate who can start asap.
