Rutherford Cross Retained by Miller Developments to Appoint Financial Controller

The business currently controls over 1,100 acres of land throughout the UK, approximately 50% of which has now been successfully allocated for development. Its current land and development portfolio spans the UK and includes major large scale development projects as well as regional landholdings to support its land trading activities. Miller Developments owns, controls or has delivered in excess of 4,000 houses which it has taken through planning, as well as land that can accommodate in excess of 800,000 square feet of commercial space. The business has a highly experienced development team that has delivered a large number of projects across the UK; from serviced plots of residential land to the housebuilding industry, big box logistics in Warrington through to offices in Edinburgh and industrial development in Aberdeen.

Miller Developments’ Directors have all worked closely together for many years and are committed to growing the development pipeline through strategic acquisitions, selective partnerships and a comprehensive planning strategy.

The role of Financial Controller will be a key hire for the business. Reporting to the Managing Director and working as part of a small and highly experienced team, the role will be involved in various aspects of a busy finance function and requires a candidate who is very hands-on in their approach. The role will manage all aspects of the finance function which includes the preparation of accounts, cashflow management, IT and System Management and tax and supplier payments/invoicing.

The position will require a professionally qualified candidate who has a proactive and commercial approach to financial management as well as being highly adept at managing cashflow closely and showing great attention to detail when reviewing financial paperwork/contracts.
