Rutherford Cross has been retained by Apex Scotland in the search of a Finance Manager to join the team.
Apex Scotland supports individuals who have or are at risk of coming in conflict with the law. Their services include early intervention for young people, practical and emotional support, training, employability programmes, and individualized help. Annually, Apex support 1,300 to 1,500 participants through 24 commissioned services across eight regions in Scotland.
Role Overview: As the Finance Manager, you will provide accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information, analysis, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making. You will foster relationships with key internal stakeholders, ensuring individual and collective accountability for the charity’s long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate financial information and advice to budget holders and the Executive Team, including monthly management and annual accounts, cash flow projections, forecasts, and KPIs.
- Conduct monthly financial performance reviews with budget holders.
- Produce annual statutory accounts under Charity SORP and liaise with external auditors.
- Coordinate the annual budget process and prepare rolling 12-month financial forecasts.
- Oversee payroll, sales, and purchase invoicing processing managed by a third-party provider.
- Support the development of new services through cost models, financial budgeting, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place, documented, and maintained.
- Review, maintain, and implement new financial systems and processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements for enhanced financial management and reporting.
