Weir Group has a firm foothold in Scotland and has invested in new Glasgow city centre headquarters comprising some 75 professionals including the Board of Directors, Group Heads of Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit, Company Secretary/legal team and the Group Finance team.
The Opportunity
A key position has recently become available within the Group Finance team for an ambitious individual to join the business. The role will initially be a split role between Treasury Finance and Group Finance incorporating a number of characteristics including treasury, management and statutory reporting, involvement in key finance and treasury projects, as well as working with functional heads to analyse and investigate data. This will provide the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the broader finance processes whilst developing the necessary technical skills in treasury prior to transitioning full time into the Treasury Finance team. Reporting to the Group Treasury Controller, this is a broad role where it will be essential to communicate across business units globally and therefore requires an individual of the highest calibre.
The candidate
The position incorporates a blend of treasury accounting, management reporting and analysis as well as financial reporting and project management which requires a confident individual with strong technical skills and interpersonal ability. It is essential that the individual is CA/ACA qualified, however, applicants will be considered either making their first move from the profession or already operating in a similar capacity within industry. In addition it is essential that candidate’s display all there required personal characteristics, especially in demonstrating confidence, self-motivation and an ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels across the business.
