Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a key client within the FMCG sector in order to appoint a Transactional Finance Processor as the business continues to undergo a massive period of growth and success. The role will be based at the company’s head office in East Kilbride.

The position of Transactional Finance Processor been created in response to the success of the client which is expected to continue long past 2023, making it an  exciting time for an experienced Transactional Finance Processor to join the rapidly growing business. The successful candidate will be a proactive and organised individual who is keen to progress and develop within the business. They will be responsible for the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions, Credit Control and other ad hoc transactional finance duties.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process the core accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash and banking functions in the finance team ensuring all areas are well controlled
  • Ensure all key processes and controls are in place and being adhered to in relation to accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash and banking
  • Ensure all relevant balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts are controlled, prepared and reviewed on a monthly basis
  • Support on Banking Reconciliations
  • Identify any core process gaps and put in place improvements in a timely manner
  • Proactively work closely with relevant business managers to ensure a clear understanding of the core finance processes and close any gaps in understanding as appropriate
  • Provide relevant training to the business on core processes e.g. PO’s / GRN’s etc as required
  • Actively support the Transactional Finance Manager and communicate at all levels to ensure information is shared in a timely manner
  • Examine, verify, and prepare financial information
  • Present a positive and professional image of the client in all contacts and relationships
  • Accurately and thoroughly maintain a wide variety of records
  • Prepare clear, concise, comprehensive and accurate reports
  • Learn and effectively use accounting systems to store and retrieve data
  • Clearly communicate orally and in writing with all levels in the organisation

Experience:

  • Demonstratable experience in a similar role within a transactional finance environment
  • Proven track record of working towards deadlines
  • Experience of effectively using accounting systems to store and retrieve data

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • A highly organised individual with strong internal and external communication skills. The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously and extensive knowledge of the transactional finance function
  • Ability to prioritise and adapt to workload
  • Proficient in various computer programmes such as MS Office programs, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and orally
