Description
Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with one of Scotland’s biggest names who are currently seeking a Tax Manager to join their team as they continue to expand globally. This position will work very closely with the wider finance function, taking ownership of the Group Tax team, whilst also being responsible for tax compliance and reporting obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of our global tax compliance and reporting obligations. This includes (but is not limited to) the provision and oversight of tax returns, tax reporting, ensuring tax payments are calculated and paid in a timely manner, tax forecasts, liaising with global tax advisers and responding to queries from Tax Authorities
- Involvement with year-end tax provisions and tax disclosure notes included in financial statements, liaising with the wider Finance team and auditors where appropriate
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of their global tax compliance provider
- Partner with Tax Transformation Lead (Group Tax) on continuous improvements in tax compliance, reporting and payment processes
- Contribute to business-wide projects and internal change initiatives with tax compliance and reporting impacts
- Assist with the global transfer pricing policy and documentation
- Work closely with and form partnerships with the wider Finance Department and other internal stakeholders
- Contribute to an effective tax governance, risk and controls framework for the Group
- Provide support and assistance to the wider Group Tax team as required
Experience Required:
- Completed relevant professional accounting (CA or equivalent), tax (CTA) or legal qualification
- Strong corporate tax background with exposure to international tax issues
- Exposure to transfer pricing or VAT-related tax matters would be an advantage, though not essential
- Asset management or financial services experience (desirable)
- Management of service providers
- Ability to clearly communicate technical aspects to a wider audience concisely and effectively
- Communicate effectively and professionally with staff across the firm and build relationships with key stakeholders (both internally and externally)
