Rutherford Cross’s client is a global health service leader dedicated to helping people improve their health, well-being and sense security. Due to continued growth, our client is now looking to recruit a Tax Manager into their European Tax Team, which is part of the centralised European Finance Department. The Tax team currently consists of 3 people and covers both direct and indirect tax across the European region. The role will be based in Glasgow and reports directly to the European Head of Tax but will also work closely with the US Tax team.

Role:

This is a new role and will specifically support US GAAP and local tax accounting including forecasting requirements along with supporting tax planning. The role will also cover the tax compliance elements of the Non-US Holding companies and transfer pricing.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You will be working as a member of the tax team to provide tax compliance and advisory services including:

  •  Supporting the US tax planning and forecasting process, ensuring tax is reflected accurately
  • Annual and quarterly reporting under local and US GAAP for the Group
  • Preparation of UK and overseas tax returns for various holding companies within the Group
  • Monitoring changes in the tax laws and developing plans to mitigate risks
  • Assisting with implementation of BEPS actions (e.g. Country by Country Reporting, Transfer Pricing Master and Local Files)
  • Providing withholding tax advice
  • Taking ownership for researching ad hoc tax questions which come from a variety of sources within the organisation
  • Assisting with ad hoc planning work and supporting key tax projects

Experience Required: 

  • CA/CTA or equivalent qualification essential
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience
  • Technical knowledge of insurance and financial service industry would be advantageous
  • International experience would be a benefit
  • Preferable working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience of Oracle, Hyperion and Global Access or similar packages
