Rutherford Cross are delighted to be partnered with one of the largest life-sciences & pharmaceutical businesses in the world to help them appoint several qualified finance positions at their centre of excellence in Renfrew. The organisation is focused on scientific research and its mission statement is to make the world ‘a cleaner, better & safer place’.

Ideally, for this statutory accounting role we are looking for big4/mid-tier qualified auditors or people from industry with a substantial background in stat accounting, auditing, or internal control. The business offers a flexible working policy and a salary of up to 45k + regular bonuses. What will you do?

  • Preparation of statutory financial statements for a defined set of European legal entities.
  • Contribute and execute to the EMEA external statutory reporting timetable in line with internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Lead the completion of a number of statutory audits reported through the COE team.
  • Ensure clear communication maintained with external auditors throughout the audit process.
  • Key member of the team transitioning statutory reporting responsibilities into the COE.
  • Drive the implementation of key accounting updates under IFRS/ Local GAAP and support the Global Technical Accounting team in the roll out of technical updates.
  • Point of contact for technical accounting issues.

What are we looking for

  • Finance experience to include a substantial background in statutory accounting, auditing and internal control.
  • Strong technical orientation with an understanding of both US and UK GAAP.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent with a professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Act as a proactive team member who and a focus on ensuring that objectives are delivered.
  • Demonstrates highest level of integrity, trust and strong compliance orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively within a wider international team.
  • Proficient user of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
