Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a Manufacturing organisation based in Glasgow to recruit for the role of Senior FP&A Analyst. This newly created and exciting role will mainly focus on supporting all forecasting and analysis for the business. Working with a fast growing business, the candidate will be involved with short and long-term forecasting and reporting of key financial metrics and results. A summary of some of the key responsibilities are below:

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly consolidated reports and variance analysis for senior management
  • Assisting with preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets
  • Key point of contact for budget holders and the senior management team
  • Promoting cost awareness and cost control culture, ensuring sign-off and authorisation procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Consistently seek improvement to financial processes, controls, procedures, presentations and reporting
  • Analysing monthly ledger data to identify variances to forecast and to highlight potential risks and opportunities
  • Assisting and leading projects and initiatives to optimise the effectiveness of existing business applications, technologies, and systems, and to build efficiencies and improvements into current business processes
  • Deputizing for the Director of FP&A as and when required
  • Partnering with the finance reporting team to make sure that all project costs are matched to revenue milestones and costs are deferred where appropriate
  • Partnering with the Operations Directors to ensure that operations are performing in line with financial expectations
  • Assisting senior management with ad hoc requests, projects, reports and research
  • Maintaining various Excel forecast models and reports

The ideal candidate will ideally be a qualified accountant, and have a diverse skill set that includes: good communication skills, commitment to high quality work, attention to detail,  continual process improvement and being independently motivated to drive results.
