Description

This is an excellent career move for a recently qualified accountant to join a growing, family-owned company, taking responsibility for financial governance, asset management and the accuracy of our financial statements. The post-holder will be actively involved in the operational finance team in a high-growth business with revenue exceeding £325m in the last financial year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review monthly subsidiary management accounts
  • Support the monthly management accounts preparation of the main trading business
  • Assist with monthly reporting to the banking club and bi-annual audits
  • Assist with the year-end audit and work alongside other team members to ensure this is delivered on time
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders and compile annual departmental budgets
  • Develop a working knowledge of the fixed asset end-to-end process and take responsibility for the monthly tasks e.g. asset reconciliation, depreciation run, to ensure the accuracy of reported numbers
  • Assist with ad hoc fixed asset queries
  • Responsibility for supplier rebate accounting
  • Responsibility for new and existing HP agreements and leased asset reporting
  • Responsibility for property capex accounting and analysis
  • Review monthly accruals and prepayments alongside other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop a deep understanding of the ERP system and longer term provide support to the wider finance team if issues arise
  • Responsibility for creation and maintenance of Finance master data
  • Actively engage with the wider finance team to understand how each area works with an opportunity to get exposure to each area ensuring you a develop a rounded knowledge of the GAP business
  • Assist with Finance ad hoc projects as they arise
