Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working with a business based in Glasgow who are looking to add a Senior Financial Accountant to their team for a period of 9 months. Reporting into the Finance Director the key aim of this role will be preparing the year end statutory accounts and overseeing the external audit while also managing monthly financial accounting duties and overseeing company balance sheet and working capital management. A summary of some of the other key duties are below:

• Month end accounting including full profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow
• Balance sheet and capex control and reporting
• Regular reporting of the cash position including variance analysis to budget
• Providing timely financial statements
• Managing the internal and external audit process
• Collating budget and forecasts and ensuring integrity of the P&L for these purposes
• Ensuring strict compliance, governance and control across the area
• Managing a small team, providing support, guidance and holding team meetings

For this role it is essential that candidates have a full accountancy qualification – CA/ACCA/CIMA and have a strong technical and audit knowledge with recent experience in a financial reporting role for a large company. Experience within FRS102 would be highly desirable and it is important you have the ability to manage a small team. This is a challenging role which is varied and will provide the opportunity to liaise at senior management level.
