Description
Rutherford Cross is working with a well-respected Public Sector Organisation to recruit a Finance Business Partner. The successful post holder will provide management information for both strategic and operational purposes, and undertake financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, risk analysis and business plan appraisal. You will be driving forward financial management strategies and plans.
On offer is a salary of up to £54k (depending on experience) and an exceptional benefits package, including 36 days annual leave and 19% employer contribution pension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, timely and clear management information in a standard format covering financial performance, strategic financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Undertake financial analysis and due diligence assessment of new initiatives, reviewing the financial impact of available options
- Work closely with management teams in exploring viable income generation and funding strategies to support improved performance and revenue increases
- Identify areas of potential financial efficiency, through objective financial review and challenge, seeking improved use of resources
- Ensure that all activity is subject to rigorous budgetary monitoring, forecasting and control
- Contribute fully to the Finance Management team to optimise the impact of Finance across the organisation
- Work independently and shape activity for the Finance Business Partnering team, leading initiatives and projects
- Ensure that financial plans are developed and operate effectively
- Meet regularly with Directors to support them in managing their budgets effectively
- Act as a trusted advisor to Directors, provide high-level expertise and commercial acumen, and instigate change
- Contribute significantly to policy and procedural reviews
- Develop strong and supportive working relationships with colleagues across finance and contribute with influence to the Finance management team
The Individual:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ICAS / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Effective team worker, able to influence across formal organisational reporting lines
- Ability to present and explain financial information
- Ability to prioritise and juggle competing demands from a variety of stakeholders
- Proven analytical and problem-solving capability, with a commitment to continuous improvement
- Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
