Description

Rutherford Cross are currently working exclusively on a Senior Accountant Finance role with a leading Oil and Gas service business based in the Netherlands.

 

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to gain international exposure with a leading drilling contractor with an exciting and well defined career path.

 

The Role

The Senior Accountant will Assist Division Controller and Assistant Division Controller in providing timely and accurate financial reporting to Division and Corporate management, as well as local statutory and tax authorities. Maintain accurate legal entity balance sheet accounts and reconciliations. Ensure Division’s compliance with relevant accounting policies and procedures. Management and coordination of all internal and external audit deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assistance in the provision of accurate and timely management accounting requirements on a monthly basis.
  • Preparation and maintenance of accurate legal entity books and records
  • Assist with preparation, completion and filing of multiple jurisdiction statutory financial statements.
  • In conjunction with the Corporate Tax Department, ensure company’s compliance with tax legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures, including those established under the Sarbanes Oxley Act.
  • Timely coordination and management of corporate external and internal audit deliverables.
  • Monitor and ensure Division’s compliance with the company’s AFE, spending and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and related company policies.
  • Work with the Division Management to assist in annual budget preparation and regular forecasting.
  • Assist with the supervision of the accounts receivable function and the monitoring of DSO.
  • Maintain files as necessary for department recordkeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

 

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or another relevant discipline.
  • Post-University accounting qualification such as CA, ACCA, RA, CPA, CIMA (or equivalent) preferred.
  • Relevant Drilling experience in Oil & Gas industry.
  • Significant experience in statutory financial statement preparation and filing requirements preferred.
  • Expertise with US GAAP, UK GAAP, Dutch GAAP, and/or IFRS-based accrual accounting
  • Proficient in financial accounting and Microsoft Office Suite software. SAP & Hyperion preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Willing to travel as needed.
