Description

Rutherford Cross is working with a growing financial services business to recruit for a Risk and Control Associate. This is a critical role for the business as they move through a period of transformation. Reporting to the Head of Risk, the role will sit as part of the Risk & Compliance team and will support through BAU and integration specific projects. The organisation are keen to attract a candidate with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills and be able to implement business initiatives.

A summary of some of the key duties are below:

  • Maintenance and administration of the Risk & Control register
  • Maintenance and administration of the Internal Control Framework including assisting the 1st Line risk owners with design and implementation of key controls
  • Maintenance and administration of the Policy Management Framework and Lifecycle register
  • Maintenance and administration of the Monitoring & Testing Plan
  • Maintenance and administration of the Workstream Calendar
  • Ensure adequate and up to date documentation and evidence of risks, controls, and decisions in relation to them, are kept as records within the business unit
  • Assist with the design, implementation and subsequent generation and coordination of risk reporting requirements (KPIs & KRIs) across the UK platform
  • Support the Risk & Compliance leads with the delivery of the Operational Resilience Framework as required
  • Support the Risk leads with the delivery of the ORSA as required
  • Support the Head of Risk in providing reporting and insight to 2nd and 3rd line teams, and Group, as required
  • Provide risk and issue support across the business, ensuring the appropriate response, management, and treatment is logged and executed
  • Coordination of formal risk event and issue management updates as may be required

This is a 1st Line position and will provide critical support in the delivery of the Risk Management strategy therefore it is essential that candidates are coming from a Risk Management background and with Insurance sector experience. Other key requirements will be:

  • Analytical in approach
  • Ability to manage and influence key stakeholders
  • Confident in presenting and engaging at all levels
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • Adaptable, flexible and receptive to change
  • Self-motivated and able to work without supervision
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and Teams

On offer is an excellent salary up to £75,000 DOE as well as an excellent wider benefits package. The role is also fully remote however there is an office based just outside Glasgow if candidates would rather be in the office.
