Description

Rutherford Cross is pleased to be exclusively partnered with a global renewable energy business to appoint a Reporting Accountant. They are based in Glasgow City Centre but provide both hybrid and flexible working options. On offer is a highly competitive package, unrivalled progression opportunities and a market-renowned working culture. This opportunity represents an ideal first step into the commerce industry from practice.

Ideally, we are looking for newly/recently (up to 3 years PQE) qualified accountants from the big 4/bigger medium size firms who have knowledge of FRS 101 and IFRS. This role sits within a high-performing team, and the role is highly visible within the business. This visibility will allow you to interface with senior stakeholders and build your professional network within the business whilst gaining a broad understanding of the company.

The Reporting Accountant will play an integral role within the Group Reporting and Control team, delivering all internal and external financial reporting for the Group. Whilst the role is focused on reporting, there is significant variety day-to-day, due to process improvements and the number of entities within the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work proactively across all entities to ensure that the external reporting packs and statutory accounts are produced to a high standard, to agreed timetables and are technically correct in relation to all appropriate accounting standards and legislation
  • Maintain a strong control environment to ensure that all procedures and processes in their area comply with Group Policies and that documentation is kept up to date
  • Maintain technical knowledge to ensure that external reporting information complies with relevant accounting standards and legal practice
  • Contribute to a positive environment within own team and ensure that staff are motivated, have clear objectives and that they receive regular feedback and development
  • Continually challenge current business processes to seek and deliver on-going efficiencies
  • Work effectively in a small team of professional individuals in the consolidation and delivery of all external financial reporting requirements
  • Ability to work in a flexible and dynamic way to ensure team deliverables and objectives are delivered to a high standard and on a timely basis

For an initial confidential discussion regarding this market-leading opportunity, please contact Harry Young at Rutherford Cross on 07494 280 500.
