Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly successful business on the outskirts of Glasgow to appoint a Finance Project Controller. This role will provide exposure to working closely with the UK FD and FC, whilst also working with Head of Project Management and Procurement.  Part of the reason for the role being created is succession planning to take over from the FC within the next couple of years.  The role covers a broad spectrum of duties from developing controls, liaising with a variety of business units ensuring projects are progressing, and preparing MI to support decision making.  This is a great opportunity for an ICAS qualified accountant.

Duties:

  • Attend project review meetings, taking responsibility for the financial aspect of the monthly contract review process
  • Maintain and develop controls to ensure accurate financial valuation of Work in hand and Work in progress and cost of sales
  • Overview the closure of projects, ensuring correct invoicing, allocation of cost of sales and levels of provisioning
  • Prepare the Weekly Operations report, detailing actual and forecast bookings, sales and operating profit
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, including supporting workings, for the key project related balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in preparation of monthly Group financial and management reports - actual reports and monthly forecasts
  • Assist in the preparation of company budgets and forecasts
  • Update controls narratives as required, ensure all controls are operating effectively and perform quarterly testing
  • Assist with information gathering and questions from internal and external auditors
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures for all areas of responsibility
