Rutherford Cross is pleased to be partnered with a global premium drinks business, home to some very recognisable brands, to appoint a Payroll Administrator. This represents a great opportunity to join a high-calibre team in a role that offers a flexible working model. Working within the in-house payroll team, you will be responsible for managing the complete payroll cycle for approximately 2700 employees spread across 7 monthly UK payrolls.
The ideal candidate should thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute ideas for enhancing internal processes, have a payroll qualification and have in-house payroll experience.
Role Overview:
- Collaborating with the payroll team leader to handle additional payroll-related duties and providing coverage for Overseas payrolls by coordinating with our outsourced service providers
- Engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, and utilising various internal and external data sources to collect and accurately process data within statutory and internal deadlines
- Generating payroll reports, conducting data analysis, posting entries to the finance system, and reconciling payroll GL accounts
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately preparing and processing the group's semiannual UK payrolls and one Irish payroll, ensuring adherence to deadlines and authorization of payments in accordance with the Group Banking Mandate
- Ensuring the application of current legislative and contractual deductions, timely payments, and authorisation in line with the Group Banking Mandate to relevant external bodies, in compliance with HMRC guidelines
- Collaborating with HR administrators to maintain the smooth operation of payroll on a day-to-day basis, coordinating with HR leaders for the implementation of new payroll policies
- Managing the process and payment of overseas Taxes and UK National Insurance where applicable for overseas secondees
- Providing support to Group Finance and Shared Service Leader in implementing and integrating new payroll projects, collaborating with HR, GTS, and the payroll provider
- Overseeing and reconciling Payroll Control Accounts for month-end and year-end in accordance with the Group Reporting timetable
- Concluding the financial tax year-end by sending end-of-year summaries, P35s, and P14s online to HMRC, and issuing P60s to all employees in line with HMRC timetable
- Continuously reviewing processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and proposing / implementing these with input / authorisation from the Group Finance and Shared Service Leader as appropriate
