Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working in partnership with one of Scotland’s leading social care charities to appoint a Management Accountant. The organisation provides practical care and support for vulnerable children, adults and families who face extremely challenging circumstances.

The purpose of the job is to deliver accurate monthly management accounts which will contribute towards achieving charitable objectives

The key objectives:

• To update and reconcile Fixed Asset Register on a monthly basis
• To reconcile all Balance Sheet accounts on a monthly basis
• To prepare and submit quarterly VAT return
• To provide training and have ability to explain finance information in a clear way to non-finance colleagues
• To continuously consider and proactively assist with system improvements
• To provide holiday/absence cover for all other department ledgers when necessary
• To undertake such other duties as are required and appropriate to the role
• To work at all times within the organisation's standards, policies, procedures and guidelines

Experience required:

• CCAB Part-Qualified Accountant (or qualified by experience).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of charity accounts would be advantageous but not essential
• Ability to produce management accounts, balance sheets and cashflow statements
• Knowledge of accounting software with a real interest in ensuring the veracity of the system data
• Good working knowledge of the interfaces with sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook and payroll
