Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively engaged by a growing business to appoint a Management Accountant. The position is based at the company's HQ in Lanarkshire; however, the company itself has a national footprint. The business has grown significantly in the last few years, and this position represents a key hire as the continued growth requires further support from its high-performing finance function.
In this position, you will work closely with the Financial Controller with day-to-day support as well as business partnering with operational stakeholders to drive improvements across the business.
Our client has an excellent reputation for developing their people, with a collaborative culture front and centre and will be providing study support for the appointed candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant with experience of preparing management accounts, is an excellent communicator and has experience business partnering.
Overview
The Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting commercial decisions and providing financial support to the wider business. In this role, you will be actively involved in preparing financial reports, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with financial processes. The responsibilities are at the intersection of finance and operations, where preparation and communication of financial analysis is essential to drive business performance with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing monthly management accounts and meeting reporting deadlines
- Collaborating with key stakeholders to support commercial decisions
- Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and preparing necessary journals
- Assisting in budget and forecast preparation
- Supporting year-end audit
Qualifications / Technical Skills / Experience / Knowledge
Essential:
- Part Qualified/Qualified CIMA or ACCA accountant
- Previous experience in a Management Accountant role
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong excel skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team and meet deadlines
- Be able to demonstrate initiative
