Rutherford Cross is pleased to have been exclusively engaged by a market-leading facilities services business to appoint a Management Accountant. On offer is a salary up to £40k, great benefits, a highly flexible working model and the opportunity to work in a business-facing management accounting position heading up a team of 3.

This opportunity has arisen because the business has recently won a major contract. This role will support contract teams in their understanding of their contracts’ financial performance, by leading the production of accurate and timely management accounts, including monthly variance analysis, cash management, accounts receivable and supporting with the preparation of annual budgets.

Ideally, we are looking to engage with part-qualified/QBE Management Accounts in Central Scotland who have a track record of timely and accurate management accounts production. Prior experience in a service/contracts-focused organisation would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the production & review of accurate monthly management accounts
• Prepare variance analysis and commentary of contract performance, working alongside the contract team to investigate and resolve issues in a diligent and logical manner within agreed timescales
• Identification and implementation of business process improvements and controls
• Assist the contract teams with budget and forecast preparation
• Ensure all invoices are raised & submitted to customers in a timely fashion and support with the collation of backing documentation
• Submission of contract timesheets to payroll and subsequent resolution of payroll queries
• Maintenance of contract cash trackers including reconciliation of the contract cash position on the balance sheet and identification of correct VAT
• Support the contract teams with the management of outstanding debt and highlight any debt control issues as they arise
• Support year-end audits, providing contract financial information to the Finance Business Partner and Central Finance team as required
