Description

Rutherford Cross is delighted to be representing one of the UK’s leading service providers in the energy sector.

The key appointment of Management Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of management accounts in line with the business' requirements. They will hold key relationships with operational stakeholders throughout the business to help drive overall performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
  • Produce and submit accurate reports within required deadlines
  • Review, analyse and interpret monthly reporting submissions, including variance analysis, commentary and participation in monthly review calls
  • Support the preparation of internal presentations
  • Prepare and submit weekly Accounts Receivable trackers, Capex trackers and cashflow forecasts, including analysis and communication of key insights
  • Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly reporting requirements and liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
  • Assist with tax compliance processes and liaise with tax advisors
  • Review existing processes, contributing to ongoing accounting system and process improvements
  • Undertake any additional related tasks or duties as required

 

Candidate Specification:

  • Professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS preferred)
  • Demonstrable knowledge of fundamental accounting principles and accounting systems
  • Relevant experience in a similar role within the energy sector
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within the energy sector
  • Strong organisation and time management skills, adept at balancing multiple priorities
  • Strong commercial awareness to support decision-making
  • Ability to operate with full autonomy and collaborate within a team environment
  • Proven ability to develop effective, collaborative partnerships across internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates a proactive mindset with flexibility and adaptability in all tasks
